Gamba Nomicon โ Thyng Garden
A tiny planet pet simulation and auto-battler where you tend, train, and breed quirky creatures called Thyngs.
Drawing inspiration from Chao Garden, Super Auto Pets, and Zoo Tycoon 2, the game tasks you with managing an evolving ecosystem. Prepare your Thyngs, watch them compete against others, and carefully breed the ultimate champion across generations!
๐ช The Garden (Core Gameplay)
You start with a small, spherical planet and a couple of Thyngs. As the manager of this garden, your job is to observe and influence their growth without directly controlling them.
- Expand Your Roster: Start with 2 Thyngs and expand your garden to manage up to 6 active Thyngs at once.
- Shop & Economy: Earn currency by winning competitions, which you can spend in the shop on food, training toys, breeding fruits, or new Thyngs.
- Paper Mario Aesthetic: Enjoy a distinctive, charming 2.5D visual style where 2D sprite Thyngs roam a 3D world.
๐งฌ Stats and Feeding
Every Thyng has 4 primary stats: Speed, Power, Stamina, and Health. A Thyng's potential comes from its birth genetics (IVs), but its actual strength comes from how you raise it (EVs).
- Feeding: Drop food into the garden for your Thyngs to eat. Different foods provide specific stat boosts (EVs).
- Careful Diet:Maximize your Thyngs' performance by feeding them specialized diets tailored to the competitions they will face.
๐ฏ Traits and Training
Thyngs aren't just about raw statsโthey also have up to 2 active trait slots which provide powerful passive bonuses during competitions.
- Unlock Traits: Discover new traits by feeding Thyngs specific food combos, using training objects, or inheriting them through breeding.
- Training Toys:Place interactive objects (like a Sparring Dummy or a Sprint Track) in the garden. Thyngs that spend time near these toys will gradually "imprint" on them and unlock associated traits (like SCRAPPY or SPRINTER).
- Synergy: Build a team with complementary traits. For example, a BERSERKER Thyng gets a massive power boost when its health drops, while a CUNNING Thyng might dodge the first attack in a battle!
๐ Competitions (Async Online)
Once your Thyngs are fed and trained, send them to compete! You don't directly control the Thyngs during events; instead, their stats and traits dictate their performance while you watch the action unfold.
- Races: A pure test of Speed and traits like SPRINTER or CUNNING. Watch your Thyngs navigate an obstacle course.
- Battles: 1v1 auto-fights testing Power, Stamina, and Health. Traits like TANK or STUBBORN can turn the tide of a brawl.
- Async Multiplayer: Submit a snapshot of your team (DNA, stats, and traits) to a matchmaking queue. Your game will download opponent snapshots for your Thyngs to fight locally. No live server connection is required during the match!
๐ฑ Lifecycle and Breeding
Thyngs do not live forever, nor do they die from neglect. Instead, they progress through a seasonal Lifecycle:
Young โ Mature โ Elder โ Ascendant
- Aging: Thyngs age based on the number of competition rounds they participate in. Their stats peak at the Mature stage and begin to decline at the Elder stage.
- Ascension: When a Thyng reaches the Ascendant stage, it retires from the garden to your Collection, leaving behind a permanent bonus for its descendants.
- Breeding: Time is of the essence! Use a Breeding Fruitto combine two Thyngs before they age out. Offspring inherit a blend of their parents' IV stats, one trait from each parent, and a chance for a rare mutation.
- Generational Compounding: With careful selective breeding, each new generation of Thyngs will get closer to maximum genetic potential, compounding traits and raw stats into unstoppable champions.
